Praxis Automation Technology Selected to Supply Integrated Platform Management System for Colombian Navy’s PES Frigate

Praxis Automation Technology has been awarded a key contract by Damen Naval, in partnership with Alewijnse, to deliver the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) for the Colombian Navy’s new Plataforma Estratégica de Superficie (PES) frigate.

As a strategic technology partner to Alewijnse, Praxis will supply its state-of-the-art IPMS solution, which provides centralized monitoring and control of all onboard systems – including propulsion, power management, auxiliary systems, and damage control. The system is designed to increase operational readiness, crew efficiency, and safety, while enabling real-time system awareness across the vessel.

The award forms part of Damen Naval’s broader collaboration with Alewijnse, who will be responsible for the design, integration, and delivery of the frigate’s entire electrical infrastructure. This includes power generation and distribution, cabling, lighting, and automation systems. Praxis’ IPMS will be fully integrated into this architecture alongside other key technologies, including the Integrated Bridge and Navigation System and propulsion systems.

“We are proud to be part of this important project for the Colombian Navy,” said Benjamin van Dam, Managing Director of Praxis Automation Technology. “Our proven IPMS technology, combined with strong local cooperation, will help ensure the PES frigate is both future-ready and operationally robust.”

The frigate will be built in Colombia by local shipbuilder COTECMAR in partnership with Damen Naval, based on the proven SIGMA 10514 design. Delivery is scheduled for 2030.
