Hellenic Navy upgrades Machitis class with Praxis Integrated Platform Management System.
Published on 1 April 2022Praxis automation recently was awarded the contract for the refit for the first of class P266 HS Machitis. After 18 years of extensive daily use, the originally installed Praxis engine room automation system will be replaced by an Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) with state-of-the-art hardware and software to hopefully last another 20 years. The refit and setting to work of the Praxis IPMS system will be executed by the Hellenic navy designated shipyard in 2022.

New Dynamic Positioning Systems contracts awarded to Praxis Automation Technology

Six Dynamic positioning systems were ordered through Praxis Automation China with several local shipyards. Also, Praxis Singapore were able to secure a contract for seven offshore related vessels.

Praxis Automation Technology GreenBattery Energy Storage System (ESS) Awarded DNV Certification
Published on 24 August 2021Praxis Automation Technology proudly announces that it has received Type Approval by DNV for its GreenBattery Energy Storage System (ESS) for use in battery-powered or hybrid vessels and off-shore units. A signing ceremony was held on August 23rd 2021 at the Praxis head office and production facility in Leiderdorp, The Netherlands.
With the approval, DNV confirms that the GreenBattery ESS is fully compliant with the latest international standards, regulations and DNV rules. DNV is the leading authority in the field of marine battery approval.

Wärtsilä UK and Praxis join hands on ferry project for Caledonian MacBrayne

Flexible yet standardized: Praxis Automation Technology to supply Hybrid Propulsion System for Norwegian aquaculture workboat

Arksen 85 “Project Ocean” with Praxis Hybrid Propulsion Package in production

Praxis Automation Technology has successfully commissioned a DP2 vessel in the Middle East using the ShipView ship to shore connection
Published on 8 September 2020Praxis Automation Technology has succeeded in commissioning a DP2 system in Middle East via a remote commissioning link with the Singapore and Netherlands offices. This was mainly performed in view of travel restrictions by the Covid-19 pandemic and nevertheless assisting the customers swiftly in getting the vessel into operation.

Mini-Guard retires at Praxis Automation after 35 years of loyal service

Major Control Systems order for 12 new-build LNG fueled platform supply vessels (PSV)

Published on 18 June 2019Rawabi Vallianz Offshore Services has contracted Praxis Automation Technology to deliver a complete solution of its Dynamic Positioning System onboard their fleet of Offshore Supply Vessels operating out of Saudi Arabia. The contract includes the retrofit of 14 ships with a Praxis Automation Class 2 Dynamic Positioning (DP) system, including the integration to the ship’s power distribution system and control systems.

Praxis Automation Technology signs contract for Dutch Maritime Pilot’s Association L-class tender
Published on 29 May 2019Praxis Automation Technology has been awarded the contract to supply a complete vessel automation system for the latest Lynx class pilot tender of the Dutch Maritime Pilot’s Association (Loodswezen). The tender is currently under construction at Next Generation Shipyards in Lauwersoog, The Netherlands. The tender scheduled for delivery in March 2020 is the first in a series of three vessels.

Vessel Management System supply contract with Nobiskrug shipyard signed

Refit for Diving Support Vessel Rever Polaris
Published on 18 February 2019Praxis Automation Technology has at the end of last year received an order from Rever Offshore to install a complete new Vessel Management System as part of a midlife upgrade package for the engine room and diesel engine controller automation and control systems.
The contract for the Vessel Management System includes design and equipment delivery of all engine room monitoring and control systems onboard the vessel.

On December 13th, Brazilian company WEG Electric Equipment and Dutch company Praxis Automation Technology, both leading companies within their respective fields, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the bid of Damen Shipyards Group and Saab for the construction of four corvettes for the Brazilian Navy. For the Tamandaré class corvettes bid, Praxis and WEG will be partners for the supply of the complete Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS). -

Jurjen Jobse, employee of Praxis Automation Technology B.V., studied Maritime Officer at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. During one of his traineeships at Maersk he studied the fatigue phenomenon, a form of fatigue caused by excessive exertion. The resulting concentration problems are dangerous for safety and navigation on board ships.

Mr. Terry van Velzen will be appointed as the Managing Director at Praxis Automation Technology BV in Leiderdorp, The Netherlands, effective from 1 November 2018.
After completing his study as an aeronautical engineer, he fulfilled various management and executive positions with technology companies in the aircraft- and shipbuilding industry, such as Fokker Aircraft, Imtech Marine and most recently by BMA Technology, he will continue his career at Praxis Automation Technology BV.
Terry van Velzen will succeed co-founder Mr. Sjors van Ruiten in this position who will remain involved in the company as Chairman with strong focus on innovation and product development.
Praxis Automation Technology will, under Terry van Velzen’s responsibility, further expand and develop as a Global Product supplier for the shipbuilding industry with a focus on customer relations and business development.
