Praxis Automation to supply DP3, VMS and Thruster Control Systems for Bourbon Evolution vessels
Published on 14 November 2025
Praxis Automation Technology has been awarded a new contract by Sinoship Maritime Services to deliver Dynamic Positioning (DP3), Vessel Management (VMS) and Thruster Control Systems (TCS) for the Bourbon Evolution 801 and Bourbon Evolution 803 vessels.
The advanced Mega-Guard DP3 solution from Praxis provides triple-redundant control for safe and precise station-keeping in the most demanding offshore operations. The DP3 will be fully integrated with the company’s Mega-Guard Vessel Management System, ensuring seamless monitoring and control of all vital ship functions, and with Praxis’ Thruster Control System, which enables highly responsive manoeuvring under DP conditions.
A major contribution to this project will be provided by Praxis Qingdao Automation Technology, the company’s Chinese subsidiary, which is responsible for the engineering design, system integration and on-site commissioning services. The Qingdao team will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth local execution of this high-end offshore automation project.
“Our integrated DP3, VMS and TCS package offers the highest levels of reliability, redundancy and operator confidence,” said Benjamin van Dam, Managing Director of Praxis Automation Technology. “We are proud to support Sinoship Maritime Services and our Qingdao engineering team to bring next-generation automation capability to these advanced offshore support vessels”
The Bourbon Evolution 801 and 803 are advanced subsea and offshore service vessels originally built for DP3 operations. Praxis’ new systems will enhance their precision, operational safety and long-term maintainability, supported by Praxis’ global service network and secure remote diagnostics through its Internet Ship View platform.
